These prints were exhibited in the The Getty Museum’s, “Blurring the Lines; Manuscripts in the Age of Print” exhibition as an educational didactic showing how a woodcut or a copper engraving is made. The exhibition has examples of the integration of printmaking with illuminated manuscripts in the Middle Ages. The prints I did are inspired by “Studies of Peonies”, by Martin Schongauer from the late 1400’s.
