Bone Glitches, digital print, 11” x 17'“
This series of prints is a work in progress about a longer-than-expected recovery from surgery. Both time and mobility changed my art-making practice from very physical large-scale printmaking methods to smaller paintings and digital media prints. I began a daily practice of painting to try and visualize my bone, muscles and tendons healing from the surgery.
I combined the paintings with screenshots of glitches that would appear on my failing computer daily. The bleeding of the watercolor and buckling of the paper, offset by the architectural structure of the random glitches offered a way to make sense of the constant physical chaos and failures I was experiencing in my body.
